After a decade of medical cannabis sales in Colorado, we show how patient profiles and sales were affected by the opening of recreational marijuana stores. We then use these findings to advise European countries towards a better integration of medical cannabis in their healthcare system. Beyond pharmacies and recreational outlets, we consider the existence of a third supply model to improve market segmentation and public health: Cannabis Social Clubs.
